BBC Documentary: China’s Great Science Leap
At the end of August, BBC Radio 4 launched a 2-episode programme on China’s science. Wohoo! I was so happy to see (or rather hear) it being broadcasted, for its editor Melanie Brown first got in touch with me about this idea in the summer of 2019. The original idea was to conduct interviews and site visits in China. That would have presented the audience with a more comprehensive and easier to relate view of the Chinese scientific community. A much needed programme for so many different reasons.
After a long delay and an adaptation to the COVID reality, the programme is here! It’s a great production with an impressive range of interviewees. The two episodes were first aired on BBC Radio 4 at the end of August, then on the World Service on 20th and 27th September. I’m really delighted to take part in both episodes.
