Book Launches at RoRI and UCL
It was a real delight to have an online launch of my co-authored book, the Elephant and Dragon in Contemporary Life Science: A Call for Decolonising Global Governance at the Research on Research Institute (RoRI) University of Sheffield on 20th October. Given the book’s intention is to reframe how responsible innovation can be more effectively promoted in current political climate, and that my focus on connecting the scientific community with the policy ones, I was excited to share my thoughts with RoRI colleagues. This is also why my co-author Saheli Datta-Burton agreed to have a more interactive session. We were also fortunate to have comments from Katja Lasch, Director of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Regional Office New Delhi and the German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New Delhi.
In this month, Saheli and I are going to have our IN PERSON(yay!) book launch at the UCL STS Research Seminar Series. It will be a slightly different talk and I want to provoke further discussions on what ‘decolonisation’ means to STS. If you’re in London and have time on that day, hope to see you there. Details are as follows:
Time: Wednesday 16th November 2022, 15.00 – 16.30
Location: G21 Ramsay LT, Christopher Ingold Building 20 Gordon Street London WC1H 0AJ
